ShrimpKing Active Soil is composed of up to 100% natural raw materials. Produced from a variety of carefully selected natural soils, it provides essential minerals and trace elements that promote the health and growth of shrimp. ShrimpKing Active Soil was developed specifically for the successful breeding and rearing of shrimp. It is particularly suitable for all species that prefer slightly acidic soft water, especially bee shrimp such as the popular Crystal Red Bee and Shadow Shrimp. As a natural ion exchanger, it lowers the pH and stabilizes it at a slightly acidic level (approximately pH 6.0-6.5). At the same time, it reduces carbonate hardness to approximately 0-2 J CH, depending on the water source – thus making the water considerably softer. It also serves as a natural source of humic and fulvic acids without discoloring the water. The irregularly shaped grains, 1 to 4 mm in diameter, also provide a natural appearance. The dark black coloration offers excellent contrast with the vibrant colors of shrimp. The porous surface allows for the establishment of important cleaning bacteria. It is also extremely well-suited for use with substrate filtration systems. It does not discolor the water.
