- CO2 reactor expansion module for upgrading to a larger aquarium or higher water hardness
- Simple installation: detach the bottom module with the tube from the JBL TAIFUN SPIRAL reactor, insert and reattach the extension module – done.
- Extended diffusion path = greater CO2 enrichment; 5 modules, each 16 mm high, increases the yield of 200 liters of aquarium contents
- Made of solid polycarbonate, fully demountable, easy to clean. Increases efficiency by 10 °dKH or 200 l, to 4 °dKH.
- Contents: Extension for high-diffusion CO2 reactor, with 1 clamp and 1 suction cup
Optimal Plant Nutrition:
For aquarium plants, maintaining the correct CO2 level in the water is crucial. Carbon dioxide serves as a basic nutrient for plants, thus promoting their optimal growth. Plants utilize CO2 for photosynthesis, providing the water with essential oxygen. They also prevent algae growth, eliminate harmful substances, offer hiding places for animals, and reduce pathogens.
Efficient CO2 Enrichment of Aquarium Water:
CO2 gas travels through the CO2 transport pipe in the middle of the reactor and enters the lower module. There, it enters as bubbles (visible and therefore countable) within the spirals of the CO2 reactor and rises upwards, much like a circular parking ramp. Along this long journey, the CO2 from the bubbles dissolves into the aquarium water. The system thus provides aquarium plants with CO2, their primary nutrient.
Why don't the bubbles dissolve completely?
As they rise, the bubbles release CO2 into the aquarium water, but they also absorb other gases present in the water because these gases are more concentrated in the aquarium water than in a CO2 bubble. Therefore, the CO2 content in the bubble decreases, and, for example, the oxygen and nitrogen gas concentrations increase. By the end of its journey through the CO2 reactor, it has become significantly smaller, but still contains as much CO2 as the surrounding water and all the other gases present in the aquarium water.
Extension:
If the desired CO2 level cannot be achieved despite increasing the number of bubbles, the reactor can be equipped with additional modules. This extension will lengthen the path of the CO2 bubbles and increase the CO2 supply. The only limitation of an extension is the height of the aquarium.
