Reactors/Diffusers:
Carbon dioxide must now be dissolved in the water to be available to the plants, for which it is the primary nutrient. Several options are available for this process: in the simplest bio CO2 kit (JBL PROFLORA Bio80), a bubble stone performs this task. The CO2 bubbles are of varying sizes, and there is minimal CO2 loss because some bubbles also reach the water's surface. In the JBL PROFLORA TAIFUN P, a ceramic disc acts as a conduit to the water. The CO2 is forced through the disc into tiny bubbles, which dissolve in the water as they rise to the surface. This is why diffusers should always be installed as deep as possible below the surface. The only exception is the JBL PROFLORA DIRECT, which is integrated into the return line of the external filter. It also has a ceramic membrane through which the CO2 enters the water and dissolves in the aquarium as it returns to the filter.
