- Food pellets (wafers) for all herbivorous and algivorous Locaridae, such as the blue catfish. The amount of wood they contain meets the needs of catfish to gnaw on wood.
- Instructions: Allow to sink to the bottom of the aquarium. Only feed crepuscular and nocturnal species after the lights have been turned off.
- Raw, natural ingredients, without synthetic additives, for a diet close to the natural diet and good health for aquarium fish. Tested during JBL research expeditions in tropical regions.
- High palatability, even among picky species, thanks to premium ingredients such as spinach, spirulina and shrimp.
- Contents: original sealed box, recyclable, airtight and lightproof, with dispenser inside the lid (for 100, 250, 1000 ml).
The Locaridae family exhibits diverse feeding habits: most species are herbivores, feeding on plants and algae. Many species are also xylophagous (wood-eating). Some species, like the zebra pleco and the leopard pleco, don't eat plants but rather small animals, insects, or even dead fish. For these, the JBL PRONOVO TAB is the ideal choice. For all other Locaridae, JBL has designed the PRONOVO PLECO, which is available in two sizes.
Some species (many lorikeets) don't show themselves while the lights are still on. Food tablets given at that time will disintegrate and will likely be eaten by the other fish, if they like "green food." It's best to give them JBL PRONOVO PLECO only AFTER the lights have gone out. The "wafers" (smaller pellets than tablets) don't dissolve as quickly, and during the lorikeets' active period, they retain a consistency that the fish have to vigorously scrape them (this isn't a joke – it's important for their teeth!)
How do you keep different bottom-dwelling fish in the same aquarium?
Fish have a sense of taste and will refuse food they don't like. Furthermore, among our bottom-dwelling fish, we do not keep ANY species for which the vegetable or meaty food of other species would be harmful. They simply don't particularly like it, and if nothing else is available, they could develop health problems. Therefore, you can feed both types of food at the same time (e.g., JBL PRONOVO PLECO for herbivorous Locaridae and JBL PRONOVO TAB for carnivorous or omnivorous Catfish). This will actually be beneficial for the fish, as they will have a more varied diet, and each group of fish will receive food suited to its species.
