High nitrate levels cause algae growth in the aquarium. In the event of a CO2 deficiency, there is a risk that the nitrate will be converted into nitrite, which is extremely toxic to fish. 250 ml of HOBBY Nitrat Killer removes up to 12,500 mg of nitrate from the water in the short term through ion exchange and does not release it back into the aquarium water.
