Limestone reactors operate on the fluidized bed principle. They achieve high performance when used with a special aggregate. These units are specifically designed for easy maintenance and optimized operation in reef aquariums. The limestone aggregate is in constant motion thanks to the fluidized system, providing a much larger contact surface between the water and the aggregate than in traditional reactors. The reverse circulation allows the use of smaller aggregate, thus offering a particularly large contact surface and up to 50% higher efficiency than in a traditional reactor. The combination of the special (patented) reactor design and the fluidized bed principle offers great advantages: optimal mixing of aggregate, water and CO2, optimal contact surface of the aggregate, self-purification, no accumulation of aggregate, no channel formation, automatic degassing of process gases, non-return valve, probe group and gas collector.
