The sera X-Edge 300, 450, and 700 are modern corner filters that, thanks to sophisticated technology, are particularly powerful and quiet, while also blending seamlessly into the aquarium. Mechanical filtration is provided by a filter cartridge and sponge, which effectively trap dirt particles. This protects the biological filter media from clogging, increasing the biological efficiency of the corner filter. The filter basket is equipped with the highly efficient sera siporax mini Professional biological filter media – for reliable biological filtration.

The X-Edge corner filter's water flow is continuously adjustable and can also be directed in different directions using the included diffuser tube. Alternatively, the flat nozzle creates a gentle current. This nozzle also increases oxygenation: using the included Air-Set, air can be drawn in through the injector, mixed with the water, and then delivered to the aquarium.

Of course, as with all sera filters, safety was also a key consideration in the design of the sera X-Edge corner filters. Corner filters can, in certain circumstances, be dangerous for fish and shrimp. There are two aspects to consider. First, fish sometimes swim behind the corner filter and risk getting trapped. This is why the "Swim-stop" feature has been integrated, preventing fish from swimming behind the corner filter. Second, young shrimp, in particular, often enter the filter through the filter media – which can obviously be dangerous for the animals. To prevent this, custom-designed filter media is used.

Installing the corner filters is very simple: a support plate is attached to the glass using four suction cups. The corner filter can then be hung on the support plate. For cleaning, the filter can be removed from the support plate in the same way. It is also possible to remove the filter cartridge underwater.
