This product is particularly useful for reef aquariums which signal a concentration of 15 ppb or higher copper. This is considered the maximum limit for corals. Above 15 PPB, corals can start to whiten and the extension of the polyps will be limited.

The common sources of copper in reef aquariums come from a defective pump, broken wiring, biogranules, or from tap water which is not correctly filtered by the osmosis. To use the product, start by removing carbon from your system, keep the skimmer on the move and detoxify for 3 days. During this phase, the water from the aquarium will remain brownish in color because of the organic matter present in Detox. This is safe for corals.

The brown color will disappear with the heavy metals that are linked to it. This is the only product on the market we know that removes copper from undetectable levels on the Triton test. Consult your ICP-OES TRITON test results for dosage needs specific to your aquarium.
