Cryptocoryne parva is the smallest of the Cryptocorynes in Sri Lanka.
It grows to a height of 3 to 6 cm, and each rosette is 5 to 8 cm wide. It is one of the few species whose leaves do not change shape or color depending on growing conditions. It requires more light than most other cryptocorynes because it can almost completely lose its leaf blade when submerged. Therefore, it should not be planted in the shade of other plants. It is known for its slow growth, but a few Nutrition Capsules in the soil will significantly improve this. Plants spaced a few centimeters apart will form a uniform clump after six months.
