This red variant of Cryptocoryne undulata grows naturally in Sri Lankan rivers.

An easy plant to grow in an aquarium, it thrives in a variety of conditions.

The plant's appearance depends in part on these conditions. Limited amounts of light and fertilizer will make it relatively tall, brownish-green in color, and slow-growing.

Stronger lighting, a good amount of available nutrients and the addition of CO2 will make it grow faster with shorter, reddish-brown leaves.
