Eriocaulon are generally plants suitable for fresh water. Eriocaulon 'Polaris' is however much more tolerant than other varieties and is well even in medium limestone water. Freshwater still promotes its growth.
It is a small plant with very narrow leaves that form like a cushion. It requires good lighting conditions and CO2 to develop nicely.
The plant is gladly flowered after planting in the aquarium and the numerous flowers that point give it a unique appearance. Flowering can empty it with all its energy, but under good conditions it will recover after some time and will do new shoots from the base.
