Glossostigma elatinoides is highly sought after, particularly for Japanese-inspired aquariums. This ground-hugging plant from New Zealand reaches a height of 2-3 cm. One of the smallest aquarium plants, it is often used in the foreground. It is a demanding plant that requires plenty of light to achieve a dense carpet effect; otherwise, it will grow upwards towards the light. It is essential to prevent it from being shaded by other plants. To propagate: divide it into clumps (approximately 1/8 of a pot) and plant them a few centimeters apart, which will accelerate its spread. CO2 supplementation and soft water will noticeably optimize its growth.
