Heteranthera zosterifolia is a beautiful South American plant that branches out and quickly forms a lush bush.
Each stem grows to between 30 and 50 cm tall and 6 to 12 cm wide. The undersides of the leaves easily turn black. It grows rapidly under intense light, so it should be pruned before it becomes too dense, which would prevent light from reaching the lower leaves. A distinctive feature is the formation of roots on the stem. These rooted shoots can be cut and planted.
In open containers, it produces small blue flowers if some shoots manage to spread across the surface.
