Leptodictyum riparium is a slender, upright moss that tolerates both high and low temperatures. Often called "thread moss," it is found in most parts of the world, though it is believed to be native to Europe. It has a deep green, slightly translucent color. This easy-to-care-for moss can adhere to rocks and tree roots in the aquarium. Its growth is both vigorous and rapid, requiring regular trimming.
It is generally a good plant for beginners who want a unique effect in their aquarium. The moss is popular in nano aquariums and is often used as brood cover and for aquarist breeding.
