The Indian Pogostemon deccanensis (formerly known as Pogostemon erectus) produces dense clumps of light green stems reminiscent of conifers. This plant can be used as a background plant, but is also attractive as a centerpiece in small or large groups.
Good lighting helps maintain the plant's compact shape thanks to its moderate growth rate and vigorous root system. Its bright, intense color beautifully complements any surrounding red plants.
The plant becomes very dense and requires regular pruning. Cut and replanted shoots will quickly develop new roots and lateral branches.
