Tissue crop aquarium plant in sealed cup.
Riccia fluitans is a small, cosmopolitan liverwort that, depending on conditions, will reach 1 to 5 cm in height. Thanks to the Japanese aquarist Takashi Amano, many aquarists cultivate Riccia fluitans submerged, attached to a rock with nylon thread. New shoots tend to emerge, so they need to be trimmed with scissors. When submerged, Riccia fluitans prefers CO2 supplementation. Under good growing conditions, it forms oxygen bubbles at the tips of its leaves. When floating, it provides good shelter for young fish.
