- Regular water change
- Food or plant residues and metabolic products pollute water from the aquarium. As aquarium filters cannot completely remove these substances from the water and that a large part of the impurities are deposited at the bottom of the aquarium, it is necessary to regularly make a partial water change (1/3 of the water every 15 days approximately). The partial water change must always be combined with an aspiration of the impurities of the substrate. After the partial water change, imperatively use a good water conditioner, such as the Biotopol JBL, to adapt the new tap water to the fish.
Simply use
hold the vase bell in the water of the aquarium, shake it from top to bottom and hold the extremity of the pipe in the bucket. The water then flows into the bucket. Clean the floor with the tank bell. Finally, simply remove the water tight bell or/and close the tap at the end of the pipe.How to properly clean the aquarium soil
Push the vase bell in the ground of your aquarium by making circular movements. The soil substrate and the waste is sucked upwards, in the vase bell. Driven by its own weight, the substrate falls and only dirt is sucked out of the aquarium. For fine sand, you can adapt the suction by lifting the tank bell so that the light sand also falls by gravity. A sieve integrated into the bell prevents fish or shrimps be sucked in megardly. The sieve can be removed to clean it.If you use a prolonged action fertilizer under the gravel cover layer (e.g. JBl Proflora Aqua Basis), you will have to avoid driving the cleaning bell into the ground until you stop on the bottom window, and will not be deeper than the thickness of the floor substrate layer.
