While fish display their colors regardless of their diet, certain foods can enhance their coloration, much like carrots do for us. During courtship displays or when fighting, the intensity of a fish's colors can be particularly striking. JBL, however, doesn't use cheap carotene, but rather natural astaxanthin (also a carotenoid), produced from krill and spirulina algae. This method, while significantly more expensive, is a natural way to enhance the fish's magnificent colors.
The composition of JBL PRONOVO COLOR is such that it can be used as a basic food like JBL PRONOVO BEL.
The JBL PRONOVO Species-Specific Biological Concept for Ornamental Fish:
Alongside a staple food like JBL PRONOVO BEL or JBL PRONOVO COLOR for community tanks, your fish have access to the JBL PRONOVO Species-Specific Concept. You can supplement, or even replace, the staple food by tailoring it to specific species. So, no problem if, for example, your betta also eats your barbs' food and vice versa. The important thing is to offer the right food for each group of fish. Diversity is always a good thing!
Want to give your neon tetras or corydoras the exact food they need? No problem: in the JBL Species-Specific Concept, you'll find granules specifically designed for neon tetras (and small characins), with a composition perfectly suited to their needs, including insects: JBL PRONOVO NEON. In their natural habitats, neon tetras live in blackwater environments that are very low in nutrients and depend on small plankton, which is perfectly adapted to their mouths. Corydoras live at the bottom of the water and have a different diet. JBL PRONOVO CORYDORAS (Corydoras = the scientific name for catfish) therefore contains suitable ingredients, such as shrimp and spirulina.
