CupriSorb™ is a powerful copper-specific chelating resin.
Why is this different?
Competing products are not chelating agents, but simply cation exchange resins. These resins can remove copper from fresh water, but are ineffective in salt water.
Instructions:
Use 500 ml for every 1250 L (330 gallons*) to remove up to 15,000 mg (12 mg/L) of copper. For best results, CupriSorb™ should be positioned to maximize water flow through it. To remove undetectable copper from leaching substrate, keep CupriSorb™ in operation for at least 2 weeks after copper tests report no copper. Use a cartridge filter, chemical filtration module, box filter, or any high-flow area of a trickle filter. Depletion is indicated by a pronounced discoloration of the beads to a deep blue-black color. Use MultiTest® Copper to monitor copper levels. When depleted, CupriSorb™ can be discarded or regenerated.
Regeneration: Soak in a non-metallic container with 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of hydrochloric acid (available with pool supplies; pay attention to warnings on acid tanks). This should be done outdoors and away from children. Let soak for 1 hour, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat as needed to restore the original color. Rinse thoroughly, add baking soda until it stops foaming, and rinse again. CupriSorb™ is now ready for reuse. If the original color cannot be restored after several acid washes, perform rinses and a baking soda step, then regenerate as with HyperSorb™ or Purigen®.
