If the fish display their colors whatever their food, coloring can be enhanced by certain types of food, as is the case for us when we eat carrots. In males in periods of nuptial parade or in combat, we can observe the intensity that the colors of the fish can reach. However, JBL does not use cheap carotene, but natural astaxanthine (also a carotenoid), produced from Krill and spirulina alga. A method certainly more expensive, but natural to enhance the magnificent colors of the fish.

The special biological concept species for ornamental fish

Within this concept, you can complete, or even replace the basic food by targeting species. No problem therefore if, p. ex. Your fighter also eats the food of your bearded and vice versa. In their natural habitats in South America, neon lights live in black water biotopes very poor in nutrients and are dependent on the small plankton, adapted to the size of their mouths. Corydoras, on the other hand, live in the bottom of the water and have another food repertoire. The JBL Pronovo Corydoras (Corydoras = Scientific name of species of catfish) therefore contains adapted ingredients, such as shrimp and spirulina.
