Rowaphos is the professional method of eliminating phosphates and silicates in all types of aquariums and ponds. Rowaphos is guaranteed to eliminate more phosphate than any other product worldwide.
In freshwater or salt water aquariums, phosphates will feed harmful algae which can invade plants and corals and spoil the aesthetics of the aquarium and in extreme cases killing its inhabitants.
Within the reef aquarium, phosphates will greatly affect the formation of coral skeletons by reducing calcification by more than 50% and by inhibiting strontium deposit. It is suggested by Dr Borneman that phosphates are a direct poison for calcification.
Rowaphos is a unique and patented material, made of chemically designed iron hydroxide for the effective elimination of phosphates, arsenic and freshwater silicates, after being initially developed in Germany for the treatment of water supply of the network.
Rowaphos should not be confused with natural materials, which are generally based on aluminum oxide (zeolith) or even other iron -based products that claim to be the same product of other manufacturers.
Why Rowaphos?
Only Rowa makes Rowaphos and any other iron -based material is simply a copy with a completely different chemical structure.
Rowaphos has the greatest capacity to absorb phosphate worldwide and do nothing in the water when saturated. The product is easy to use and improves water quality where phosphates or silicates are excess.
The constant use of the product is recommended because its capacities to control harmful algae is a major advantage.
In an independent series of tests carried out by the Berlin Technical University on the five most commonly used absorber phosphates at that time, Rowaphos was deemed the most effective to eliminate water phosphates. Other media have reached only 30 - 40% of its weight elimination capacity.
