Proserpinaca palustris 'Cuba' is a stem plant that reaches 10 to 40 cm high, width of the stem between 5 and 10 cm. 

It is cultivated in a closed cup and sold with toothed leaves which acquire in the tank a long -term a characteristic acicular shape. Under good lighting, it takes a magnificent copper color and forms by its appearance a beautiful contrast with the other plants in the tank. 

Proserpinaca palustris has many forms depending on the region where it comes from. The variety cultivated by Tropica is from the Isla of Juventud near Cuba. In the United States, it is commonly called "Mermaid weed" (herb-sirène).
