Supplement containing concentrated iodine. In marine aquariums, iodine is crucial for the general functioning of cells and the transfer of nutrients between them. Iodine is constantly consumed by the tank's inhabitants, therefore, without supplementation, its level quickly decreases. Iodine is used by corals to synthesize pigments that allow them to adapt to varying light conditions and protect fragile coral tissues from UV rays. Iodum intensifies the dark blue and purple coloration of hard corals. An appropriate iodine content in the marine aquarium promotes shrimp molting. Regular dosing of iodine helps maintain the iodine content at the same level as in natural seawater.
