Calcium is necessary for plants and in animal feed, as it is an essential component of bones, shells, and plant structures. In seawater, to ensure their optimal growth, invertebrates (corals, shellfish, etc.) and calcareous algae need a sufficient calcium content. The natural calcium content in seawater is 400-420 mg/L.
The HI758 mini photometer is specifically dedicated to measuring calcium in seawater. Its extended range allows measurements between 200 and 600 mg/L.
