Poor lighting conditions, excess fertilizer or nutrients can have negative effects on aquarium water and promote algae growth. Floating algae cause green turbidity, bacteria cause whitish turbidity. The JBL water sterilizer eliminates turbidity caused by bacteria and floating algae. The aquarium water flows through the UV-resistant sterilizer housing. UV-C radiation kills bacteria, other pathogens and floating algae in the flowing water. The efficiency of this UV-C sterilizer is very high because the glass casing is surrounded by a reflective film of polished stainless steel, which reflects the UV-C rays and thus doubles its effectiveness. This can also have a positive effect on the elimination of sessile algae, such as filamentous algae, since their spores are also largely destroyed.

No harmful side effects
No change in water parameters, no negative impact on important cleaning bacteria in the filter.

Easy installation
Connect the water sterilizer to the external filter or a separate water pump. Can be installed in any position thanks to the supplied 90° elbow.

Safety
The JBL UV-C sterilizer is TÜV-tested and has a circuit breaker that automatically disconnects the device as soon as it is opened. The housing is UV-resistant, its walls are robust and it has an LED lamp indicating whether the UV-C lamp is working.

Difference from the previous model JBL ProCristal UV-C Compact: the operating indicator light is now mounted on the flat side of the electrical unit and the microswitch for automatically disconnecting the lamp when the housing is opened (plug not unplugged) has been replaced by a magnetic circuit breaker. As a result, the electrical units of the old models (Compact) are NOT compatible with the new ones (Compact Plus) and vice versa.
