If you control a Red Sea Skimmer DC protein skimmer from the ReefRun Controller, the unit will automatically manage its operation to prevent unwanted overflows or when it is full.

When used with 2 ReefRun pumps, the synchronous or asynchronous modes allow you to modulate the current, and this provides ideas for creating a circulation mode in a closed-loop system (an aquarium where circulation is provided solely by the return pumps).

Finally, when a pump and a skimmer are connected to it, the unit will delay the restart of the devices to prevent the skimmer from turning back on when the sump level is too high, such as when the return pump is off (maintenance, power outage...).
