Air filters with cellular foam

Internal air filters operate on the principle of airlift pumps. An air pump feeds air into the riser pipe through a hose. The air draws the aquarium water within it upwards; the water circulates through the fine filter sponge with optimal surface area, thus mechanically cleaning the aquarium water. Nitrifying bacteria, essential for breaking down harmful substances, establish themselves within the optimized sponges.

These filters are ideal for breeding larvae and young fish, which, due to their small size and swimming behavior, would otherwise risk disappearing into normal filters.
