Eriocaulon are generally soft water plants. However, Eriocaulon 'Polaris' is much more tolerant than other varieties and thrives even in medium-hard water. Soft water still promotes its growth.
It is a small plant with very narrow leaves that form a cushion. It requires good lighting and CO2 conditions to develop beautifully.
The plant readily flowers after planting in the aquarium, and the numerous flower stalks that emerge give it a unique appearance. Flowering can drain all its energy, but under good conditions, it will recover after some time and produce new shoots from the base.
